There has been much on cybersecurity in the finance sector recently with the launch of Austrac’s FinTel Alliance, the world’s first physically co-located alliance of public and private sector bodies combating serious financial crime, by Australia’s Minister for Justice, the Hon Michael Keenan MP with the UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA) as the first international member; and, the NY cyber security rules for financial services firms coming into effect as covered in the #PeriodicWrap of 14th January, 2017.
Also of interest in my recent reading were conference slides on maritime security retweeted by OAS 23rd February, 2017, particularly in a time where radical innovations such as permanently installed, subsea drones and subsea mesh networking capabilities are commercialising as covered in the #PeriodicWrap of 11th December, 2016; and, as preparations for mapping of the third Southern Cross Cable connecting LA, Sydney and NZ at an estimated cost of $350m gets underway.

Finally, I am looking forward to being a panel member at the British Chamber of Commerce CyberDefence Panel for Business, sponsored by BAE Systems 30th March, 2017, in Sydney; and, also to moderating a CSO Perspectives Security Wave on SmartTransport 23rd March, 2017, in Brisbane.
Until our next #PeriodicWrap
